K-Ruth HOW IT ALL BEGAN
K-Ruth is an American Hip Hop Artist from Tampa Florida. Her music integrates heartfelt soulfulness with her melodic tone and powerful uplifting lyrics. K-Ruth was born Shqurria Walker on August 10.1997. She started writing lyrics at age 9. K-Ruth developed her music in the church singing in the choir as a soprano and preaching at the podium on youth Sundays. She had 2 perspectives deriving from a family of hustlers knowing what it takes to survive having faith the size of a mustard seed. Her father, while she was in middle school, would take her to the studio and suggest that she sign up for local competitions on weekends. K-Ruth would go to the youth community center for teens in trouble.
While attending Jefferson High School K-Ruth had the opportunity to write an essay; winning a full academic scholarship to college. She was accepted into Tallahassee Community College (TCC) with plans to transfer to Florida State University. Financial hardship forced her to move back home to Tampa. She started focusing more on her music. It was then she established her stage name K-Ruth in 2016. In November 2016 she released her first Single ”QUEEN” on SoundCloud which garnered her some recognition locally in the city. She released her first underground mixtape ”POETIC CONFESSIONS” which was heavily promoted in the streets. The release caused her to be in high demand and she started to get booked for shows. In 2018 she released her second mixtape ”PSALMS 23” which started growing her fanbase. 2019 was more of a rebuilding stage for K-Ruth, she became more hands-on with her creative vision. In 2020 she released her single “SELF LOVE” which was her most streamed song at that point in her career.
K-Ruth is the most Konsistent yes with a K, most Konsistent female artist you will ever meet and she is also super diverse. We have watched her transition into a woman in the rap game from 2016-2022. K-Ruth has enhanced and tweaked her image giving us a more sexy look but still classy vibes. K-Ruth dropped a new Single ”Shake It Off” on Dec 2022. A song that saved her while in a dark place. It helped to inspire her and thousands around the world and even millions to come. Shake It Off is an uplifting, dancing, woman empowerment track that showed her city of Tampa. K-Ruth also hosts and promotes Lyrical Cafe alongside DJ Shmoney Bagz Promotions. A platform where artists feel at home and where opportunities are created and networking is the key @lyricalcaffee.
K-Ruth is also in the community working with the No-Fault Group helping make peoples’ lives easier after a car accident. K-Ruth also reaches out to her fans with her daily bread podcast which inspires and delights everybody @kruthdailybread. Since “Shake it off’ K-Ruth best selling single to date. The Queen of Tampa has taken another move and signed with (GCR) Game Changer’s Management Services.
